Skills and Qualifications

JavaScript and node.js

4-5 years professional experience with JavaScript/node.js and a successful track record of working with it to create high quality software solutions.

Performance Optimisation

Proficient in software performance optimisation techniques, able to identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements to enhance the system's overall scalability and stability.

Methods and Frameworks

Knowledge of testing methodologies and frameworks to ensure the quality and reliability of the software and a commitment to ongoing continual improvement of testing processes.

System Architecture

Solid understanding of system architecture principles and scalability considerations to design and develop solutions that can handle increasing demands and scale with growing user bases.

Debugging

Comfortable working within a large code base to identify, triage, debug and fix issues and bugs, sometimes with limited information.

Mentoring

Leadership skills and the ability to guide and mentor junior developers, providing support, sharing knowledge, and fostering their professional growth.

Even Better

Familiarity with Express.js, Vue.js, Sequelize.
Work experience at a rapidly growing startup.
Experience with TypeScript and tooling.
Developed within AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or other cloud-based environments.
Experience and passion for Continuous Improvement and CD/DevOps.
Keen understanding about security issues in Internet software design and development.
Contributed to Open Source projects.
Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science or related field.

The Position

Build New Features

Design and implement new features within the product, ensuring successful integration with existing systems and adherence to architectural principles.

Conduct Code Review

Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality, maintainability, and adherence to coding standards and best practices.

Troubleshooting

Take the lead in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues, working closely with stakeholders to minimise the impact on end-users and maintain customer satisfaction.

Collaborate and Plan

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as UX/UI designers and product managers, to contribute to the product's roadmap, prioritise features, and ensure alignment with customer needs and business objectives.

Continual Upskilling

Actively contribute to the development team's knowledge sharing initiatives, such as lunchtime learning or technical presentations, to promote continuous learning and enhance the collective expertise of the team.
